So it was a pretty good time. My only problem is how many people showed up. Its a shame that some chose to go elsewhere. The Oahe Downstream was good as a 9 hole and is now awesome as an 18 hole. They did an incredible job of improving it.

I hope having it in Sioux Falls next year sticks. I like Tut Hill and I hear nothing but great things about the new course being built. So in a year I better not hear any lame excuses about better prizes and more money somewhere else. I dont really have a threat to back that up, so just be there.

Haha, glad to hear you enjoyed state this year. Unfortunately I didn't have the privilege of attending. It's also great to see people are coming back to the website so quickly.

I've been checking in almost everyday to see if the site was back up. I mean even if we have never met, y'all my friends.

Hopefully that can change at some point. Someone I was talking to just the other day suggested that we work up some sort of tour that goes through the state... so certain events would earn X amount of points, and figure some type of scoring system to make a 5 event tour over the course of next summer.

Thats funny because me and a friend were talking about something similar. We just dont have the organization skills to pull something like that off. Any ideas on which courses you would use? Its for sure a fun idea, so let me know what comes of it.

Well, I think the idea would be to promote disc golf state wide, so perhaps integrate pre-existing events into the 'tour'. This would allow for players across the state to score 'points' and compete against each other. The confederacy has news of a new 18 hole in Custer so perhaps we could target the new courses coming to SD. There is a new one in Sioux Falls (18), Custer (18), Remodeled Pierre (18), we're working on getting our feet in the ground for another here in Spearfish. Then maybe work it down with the state to promote their courses on the state parks.

Theres supposed to be a new one in Aberdeen too. The only problem with that is its Aberdeen and they say theyre doing something and it takes 5 years to actually do it. It would be great to get more people to the course we have now. Its a great course but nobody promotes the tournaments so people never get to behold its greatness. I really like the idea though. It has a good time brodown feeling with a splash of competition.

Can't leave out Brookings at Larson Park if you're gonna have a state tour! It's a fairly easy course but I think it's a great place for a tournament. Not sure how it stacks up with difficulty compared to other courses in the state but I know it's about 3/4 as long as tuthill or less so maybe it's not a big enough course.....

I say any or every 18 hole course should be included. Im hopefully going to be in Brooking this Sunday or next Sunday. I've never played that course before so it would be nice to hook up with a local if youre down.
